FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to control the cooling process of AlV55 alloy. Following steps are carried out: the reactor is placed on a melting table in a closed space and a mixed charge containing V2O5 and metal Al is loaded, igniting an igniting agent, in order to start the reaction and perform thermite-reduction melting of aluminum, after the reaction is completed, an inert gas is blown into the reactor for protection, the surface temperature of the AlV55 alloy wheel is controlled and the furnace is disassembled when the surface temperature drops to the specified temperature of 800–1,000 °C; the AlV55 alloy wheel is placed in a water quenching bath for rapid cooling. After cooling, the wheel is caught from the alloy and crushed to obtain an article from the AlV55 alloy.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to quickly cool a wheel from AlV55 alloy in water hardening to reduce microcracks and prevent formation of oxide film after reaction, which enables to reduce the coefficient of production with an oxide film.
