FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in treating patients aged 14–17 with enuresis. Preliminary electroencephalogram (EEG) is performed with registration of α- and β-rhythms and control of number of motor and sensory day and night urination. If the patient has the following symptoms: frequency of α-rhythm 7 and below Hz, presence of β-rhythms on EEG, urination without urge 3 times or more per day out of 8 physiological, volume of nocturnal diuresis more than 30 % of total daily diuresis, number of episodes of enuresis per night more than 1, reduction of age-related effective urination volume by more than 20 % of the required volume—therapy is carried out for three months. Therapy involves administering levocarnitine 20 % in dose of 20 drops in the morning, trospium chloride 5 mg after lunch and dinner and desmopressin 120 mcg at bedtime. Then EEG is performed and number of micturitions is monitored. With persistent decrease in age-related bladder volume of more than 20 %, 2 or more motor urination, predominance of nocturnal diuresis of 30 % and more, absence of normalization of rhythms on EEG, during the next three months, increasing the dose of desmopressin to 180 mcg at night, trospium chloride up to 10 mg after lunch and dinner, levocarnitine 20 % 20 drops after breakfast and dinner. EEG is performed, and if enuresis episodes persist once in 10 days, the treatment is continued in pulse mode—for 2 weeks with interval of 2 weeks until complete recovery.
EFFECT: method provides effective treatment of patients aged 14–17 years with enuresis by identifying the most informative predictors of a successful response to treatment, as well as providing a polyfactorial effect of the therapy.
