FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a charger for a rechargeable electronic device and a method of operating the charger. Charger comprises housing with electronic circuit including control unit and rechargeable battery, and at least two connecting cables. First end of each connecting cable is electrically connected to the electronic circuit inside the charger housing, and the second end of each cable is provided with a connector, and wherein the connectors on the second ends of the connecting cables are identical. Charging device is configured for bidirectional data transfer between connected devices.
EFFECT: high efficiency of charging with high safety of operation of the charger for a rechargeable electronic device.
