SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to phthisiology, microbiology and surgery, and can be used in bacteriological diagnosis of tuberculosis. A tracheal aspiration catheter of length 53 cm and size 14 CH with a syringe is inserted along the nasal passage to the entrance to the trachea. When the patient is inhaled, the catheter is advanced into the trachea, and saline is introduced, which is aspirated into the same syringe immediately after the introduction.

EFFECT: method provides increased frequency of Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection by microbiological or molecular-genetic method due to possibility of conducting microirrigator closer to the focus of infection, thus avoiding mixing of biomaterial with saliva.
