NITRITE-REDUCTASE AS POTENTIAL ANTI-TUBERCULAR TARGET AND METHOD TO DETECT SEVERITY OF TUBERCULOSIS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C12Q1/12 C12Q1/26

Abstract RU 2671688 C2

FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Invention is a method for determining the severity of tuberculosis in humans, comprising: a) obtaining a body fluid sample from said subject; b) adding reagents A and B to the sample obtained in step (a), to obtain a solution and determining the colour intensity of said solution, where magenta as an indicator of most severity with respect to the disease, and faintly pink is least, wherein reagent A is sulfanyl acid and reagent B is N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride (NEDD), in which the body fluid is sputum, urine or blood. Invention also provides a diagnostic kit for detection of tuberculosis, comprising reagents A and B, wherein reagent A is sulfanyl acid and reagent B is N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride (NEDD), together with an operating manual and optionally with additives and carriers and the use of the diagnostic kit to determine severity of tuberculosis.

EFFECT: invention enables to detect nitrite in clinical samples.
