FIELD: small arms ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aluminum alloy cases for small arms ammunition. Case from aluminum alloy for small arms ammunition contains mouthpiece, shoulder, housing and bottom with flange. Case material is an alloy containing from 4.5 to 6.5% of magnesium, from 0.3 to 0.8% of manganese, from 0.02 to 0.1% of titanium, up to 0.5% of iron, up to 0.5% of silicon, up to 0.2% of zinc, up to 0.1% of copper, from 91.1 to 94.7% of aluminum, and the rest is impurities, with a protective coating with thickness of 10 to 25 mcm on the entire surface. Hardness of the aluminum alloy of the finished case is variable along the height of the housing and varies from 120...140 units according to Vickers in the bottom section to 150...170 units near the shoulder.
EFFECT: creation of a case from an aluminum alloy, which is protected from self-ignition during heating and having the necessary law of hardness distribution along the body height to provide the required elastic unloading and axial deformation, excluding the occurrence of cracks during firing.
