FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cosmetology, and can be used for treating complications following cosmetological botulinum therapy. Performing from 3 to 10 hirudotherapy procedures lasting from 10 to 45 minutes using leeches sized 0.1–0.7 g. In the first procedure, the leech is placed on the navel of the patient, in the second procedure, the leech is placed on the angle of the lower jaw of the patient, in the third procedure, the first leech is placed on the opposite angle of the patient’s lower jaw and the second leech is placed on the problem area. During subsequent procedures, leeches are placed only on problem areas, and the interval between the first three procedures is from 12 to 24 hours, and the interval between subsequent procedures is from 3 to 5 days.
EFFECT: method enables to eliminate such complications after the cosmetic botulinum therapy as ptosis of the upper eyelid, the appearance of facial asymmetry, heaviness in the bridge of the nose, drooping eyebrow, swelling, diplopia, flexible neck syndrome, lachrymal loss, weakness during chewing and salivation, due to the use of leeches saliva containing a large amount of biologically active substances promoting normalization of internal homeostasis.
