SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a non-invasive microwave measuring device (01) for calculating a liquid flow rate, wherein device (01) comprises: microwave device (03) for non-invasive measurement of liquid velocity, comprising a strip antenna or a horn antenna for generating microwave signal (14), which is transmitted at a certain angle α inclination towards liquid surface (16), and for receiving reflected microwave signal (15) from liquid surface (16) with Doppler frequency shift; drone (02), to which is suspended device (03) for measurement by means of suspension system (04), wherein said suspension system (04) eliminates vibration noise produced by drone (02); at least one vibration sensor for eliminating false speed readings; at least one angle sensor for introduction of correction for pitch, roll and yaw from drone (02), which affect measurement of surface velocity of liquid. Present solution also relates to a method for measuring flow velocity using a microwave device for non-invasive measurement of liquid velocity.
EFFECT: providing an improved non-invasive method and device for measuring the flow rate of a river, an open channel or a liquid flowing in a pipe or channel, when for the latter operator access to the measurement point is difficult, impossible, or dangerous or it is simply necessary to avoid entering the complicated confined space.
