FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology, specifically to calibration of laser devices built by laser triangulation and intended for evaluation of surface quality of welded seams. Calibration method consists in the fact that the reference surface is scanned and its rated dimensions are measured. For calibration, curvilinear convex spatial (volumetric) references are used, and the laser scanner measurement error is calculated from the ratio of the total area of deviations of the measured bulge sections of the reference to the total actual area of the sections of the reference bulge in the same points. Shape of the bulge of the references is limited by the values of the width and height of the welds specified in the normative and technical documents.

EFFECT: possibility of calibrating a laser scanner designed to control the quality of the surface of a weld seam, namely by the shape of a bulge of a spatial real weld seam.
