FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of welding and can be used in assessment and tracking of the changes in the qualification of a welder in the course of their work, as well as to determine the place of the welder when compiling a qualification rating of welders by the value of the qualification index of the welder. A weld seam is made, the weld seam is inspected for the presence of internal defects therein. The surface of the weld seam is scanned with a laser apparatus, determining the boundaries of the weld seam based on the obtained coordinates, and a 3D digital image of the surface of the weld seam is built. A standard of the surface of the weld seam is built. The axis passing along the standard in the middle of the width thereof is aligned with the axis passing along the 3D digital image of the surface of the weld seam, determined by linear approximation of the coordinates of the abscissae of the points calculated by dividing the segment between the coordinates of the abscissae of two points of the cross-sectional profiles of the 3D digital image of the surface of the welded joint with the maximum profile curvature in half. In order to track the changes in the qualification of the welder in the course of their professional activity and to rank their qualification relative to the qualification of other welders, the obtained data on the welded joint, the qualifications of the welder, and the 3D digital images of the weld seams made by them are transmitted via communication channels to the electronic base for storage and automated creation of qualification ratings of welders.
EFFECT: ensured high accuracy of calculation of the qualification index of the welder.
