FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to clinical laboratory diagnostics and can be used for measurement of cell composition of synovial fluid in samples with admixture of blood. Samples of synovial fluid and peripheral blood are measured on an automatic haematology analyser with fluorescence flow cytometry technology for analysis of leukocytes and impedance measurement technology for analysis of erythrocytes in synovial fluid in measurement mode of biological fluids (BF) and peripheral blood in whole blood (WB) measurement mode. During measurement of a synovial fluid sample in BF mode, data on the absolute number of nucleated cells are obtained, leukocytes and erythrocytes with increased sensitivity, relative number of mononuclear cells. During measurement of a peripheral blood sample in WB mode, data are obtained on absolute number of leukocytes and erythrocytes, relative number of lymphocytes and monocytes. Simultaneous assessment of cell composition of synovial fluid is performed, as well as examination of peripheral blood of the examined patient on the same automatic haematology analyser, with subsequent calculation of the true amount and cell composition of the synovial fluid using the declared formulas.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the speed and accuracy of assessing the cellular composition of the synovial fluid in samples contaminated with peripheral blood, by solving the problem of blood interference of the analysed cell composition of the synovial fluid with an admixture of peripheral blood on automatic haematological analysers.
