FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used in ophthalmology, plastic, reconstructive maxillofacial surgery, and neurosurgery, for diagnostics, planning and evaluation of treatment results in patients with congenital and acquired pathological changes of eye socket and its contents, as well as anomalies of the facial skeleton and processes of the cerebral skull of various aetiologies. Disclosed is a method according to which multispiral computed tomography (MSCT) of the skull is performed, loading MSCT examination into RadiAnt DICOM Viewer and obtaining an image on the main screen, wherein the patient's positioning errors during CT scanning are eliminated and the position of the patient's head is normalized along the main planes; then virtually eliminating head rotation; then, at the last stage of the virtual correction of the position of the patient's head, images of eyeballs and temporal bones are obtained simultaneously on the horizontal reformat; then transferring horizontal reformat to single-frame mode, turning off the image of axes using the F3 key or the button with the Axes icon, enlarging the image to the required dimensions using the Z key or the button with the zoom icon and placing the image in the centre of the screen using the M key or the button with the Pan icon; further, measurements are taken according to the developed technique: for this purpose, using the Length tool in the button with the Ruler icon (Measurements and tools), a base line is drawn through the most pronounced points of the anterior wall of the bony part of the auditory passages; then selecting the Angle tool and drawing two perpendiculars from the baseline through the most anterior points of the eyeballs, locomotor stump or eye cosmetic prosthesis; then, having returned to the Length tool, determining the distance from the most advanced to the front point of each measured object to the base line and recording the automatically calculated length of the perpendicular; wherein the difference between the obtained values of the lengths of the two perpendiculars is the value of the displacement of the anterior borders of the eyeballs, the locomotor stump or the eye cosmetic prosthesis relative to each other in the axial plane.
EFFECT: invention provides obtaining objective, accurate and reliable values of anterior borders of eyeballs, locomotor stump, eye cosmetic prosthesis and the value of their displacement relative to each other in the axial plane (computer exophthalmometry), regardless of the state of the walls of the eye socket, bones and soft tissues of the middle zone of the face and processes of the cerebral part of the skull, as well as in patients with tarso- or blepharorrhaphy, when the cornea is not completely visible or not at all.
