METHOD FOR TUNING SPEECH PROCESSOR OF COCHLEAR IMPLANT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/12 A61F11/00 H04R25/00

Abstract RU 2829687 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method of adjusting a speech processor of a cochlear implant by speech audiometry in children involves recording the evoked action potential of the auditory nerve on the active channels of the cochlear implant, creation of an individual listening tuning map, testing. Testing consists in presentation of words to patient in different sequence at distance of one meter from patient with intensity of acoustic stimulation of 65 dB. At that, determining the speech intelligibility level in silence and against the background of noise as the number of correct repetitions, expressed as a percentage of the total number of presented test words. During testing, a set of speech tests is used in the form of audio files in the mp3 format "Speech material for assessing the perception of Russian speech in children", which contains all the phonemes of the Russian language. Four sets of 10 monosyllabic and 10 polysyllabic words are presented in silence and on the background of noise with a signal-to-noise ratio of +6 dB. If it is impossible to repeat the words, the child is offered to choose the word he hears from the drawn pictures. Frequency component of "unrecognized" words is measured. Changes are made to the tuning map in the frequency range corresponding to the "unrecognized word".

EFFECT: higher speech intelligibility due to higher accuracy of adjustment of individual tuning card of the patient's cochlear implant processor.
