SUBSTANCE: diagnostic method and a method of determining an individual's risk of developing stroke are proposed, including measuring the expression levels of at least three biomarkers selected from the group consisting of PTGS2, HMOX1, LDLR, HSPA1B, G0S2, BAG3, TM4SF1, DUSP1 and ADM. A method is proposed for determining whether an individual who has suffered a stroke has responded to therapy, including measuring the expression levels of at least two biomarkers selected from the group consisting of PTGS2, HMOX1, LDLR, HSPA1B, G0S2, BAG3, TM4SF1, DUSP1 and ADM.
EFFECT: characterization of patients with ischemic stroke and the development of accompanying biomarkers required for assessing the effectiveness of neuroprotective drugs in patients by identifying a common coding signature for the brain affected by ischemic damage in a sample taken from an individual.
