FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary parasitology and can be used to detect cryptosporidium oocysts in faeces samples. Method of sedimentation is carried out, wherein 1 g of faeces sample is placed in mortar and 5 ml of distilled water is added, then 1 ml of detergent "Italmas" is added. Sample is thoroughly ground in a mortar and filtered through a double layer of gauze into centrifugal test tubes, after which the volume is brought to 10 ml with distilled water and centrifuged at 1,500 rpm for 4 minutes. Further, the supernatant is drained and 10 ml of 5% formic acid is added, the precipitate is resuspended and centrifuged again 7 at 1,500 rpm for 4 minutes. Supernatant is drained and the obtained precipitate is deposited on a slide, and cryptosporidium oocysts are detected.

EFFECT: invention provides high efficiency relative to similar research methods; also, when performing this method, substances related to hazard class 2 are not used.
