FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of producing hydrogen includes steps of contacting a hydrogen carrier compound C containing one or more Si-H bonds with a hydrogen release catalyst Y and an optional hydrogen release catalyst X. Optional hydrogen release catalyst X is different from the hydrogen release catalyst Y and is selected from a phosphorus-based catalyst, an amine-based catalyst or hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA). Ratio of the sum of the number of moles of the hydrogen release catalyst Y and the number of moles of the optional hydrogen release catalyst X to the number of moles of the hydrogen carrier compound C multiplied by the number of [Si-H] bonds contained in the compound C is less than or equal to 0.3. Ratio of the total weight of the hydrogen release catalyst Y and the weight of the optional hydrogen release catalyst X to the weight of the hydrogen carrier compound C is less than or equal to 0.2. Also disclosed is a version of the method of producing hydrogen.
EFFECT: invention increases output of hydrogen, reduces duration of its production, production costs and energy consumption for its release.
