FIELD: chemical technology.

SUBSTANCE: catalyst support for olefin polymerization and to a method for its preparation, as well as to a catalyst component for olefin polymerization, and to a catalyst and to a method for olefin polymerization. Described is a carrier for a catalyst intended for polymerization of an olefin, containing a magnesium-containing compound and sulphur, in which sulphur is elemental sulphur, in which the magnesium-containing compound is selected from among the magnesium compounds described by formula (I), where in formula (I): R1 is selected from the group consisting of the following: substituted or unsubstituted linear C1-C10 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted branched C3-C10 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C10 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C10 aryl, substituted or unsubstituted C7-C20 arylalkyl and substituted or unsubstituted C7-C20 alkylaryl; R2 and R3 are the same or different, all independently selected from the group consisting of the following: hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted linear C1-C10 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted branched C3-C10 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3-C10- cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6-C20 aryl, substituted or unsubstituted C7-C20 arylalkyl, and substituted or unsubstituted C7-C20 alkylaryl; X is halogen; and m is 0.1-1.9; n is 0.1-1.9 and m+n=2. The invention also describes a method for producing the above-described catalyst carrier, catalyst components containing the above-described carrier, the use of said carrier, a catalyst, and a method for polymerizing an olefin.

EFFECT: high activity and good sensitivity of the catalyst with respect to hydrogen, and improvement of the bulk density of the polymer when using the catalyst for olefin polymerization.
