SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of olefin polymerization and, in particular, to a component of a catalyst intended for olefin polymerization, a catalyst for olefin polymerization, to a pre-polymerization catalyst obtained by catalyst pre-polymerization, and to a method for olefin polymerization. The catalyst component contains magnesium, titanium, halogen, a compound A – Lewis base, described by the formula (I), and a compound B – another Lewis base, where the ratio of the total number of moles of the compound A and the compound B to the number of moles of magnesium is in the range of (0.03-0.20):1, where the ratio of the number of moles of the compound A to the number of moles of the compound B is (0.21-2.0):1, where the compound B is at least one of compounds described by the formula (II), where values of radicals for the formula (I) and the formula (II) are specified in the claims. The catalyst contains a product of the reaction of the specified catalyst product, an alkyl aluminum compound, and, optionally, a component of an external electron donor.

EFFECT: high catalytic activity; a catalyst does not contain phthalate.
