FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a catalyst component and a catalyst intended for olefin polymerization, the use of a catalyst and an olefin polymerization method. The catalyst component is characterized in that it includes magnesium, titanium, halogen and an internal electron donor, where the internal electron donor contains a monocarboxylic acid ester and a diester, and the molar ratio of monocarboxylic acid ester to diester is (0.0035-0.7):1. The catalyst component is a product obtained by reacting a magnesium source including elemental sulphur with a titanium source and an internal electron donor.
EFFECT: providing a catalyst, using which it is possible to obtain a polymer having a high value of the isotactic index and a high value of the melt flow index.
