FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to methods of applying silane-based coatings on solid surfaces in the transport industry or electroconductive wiring. Disclosed is a method of applying silane-based coatings on solid surfaces, characterized by that the solid surface: I) optionally purifying, etching and/or removing etching sludge therefrom, II) bringing into contact with at least one non-hydrolysed silane, as a result of which a non-hydrolysed silane layer is formed on the solid surface, III) is brought into contact with water by immersing the solid surface in water or by spraying water, applying it with a roller or brushing onto the solid surface, as a result of which the silane layer is at least partially hydrolysed, IV) is at least partially dried, as a result of which residues of water and alkanol are at least partially removed from the solid surface, V) is optionally heated, as a result of which the at least partially hydrolysed and at least partially dried layer of silane is cured, and VI) when performing step V), optionally applying a paint coating. Also disclosed is a solid surface having a silane-based coating, and its use in the transport industry or electroconductive wiring.
EFFECT: disclosed method makes it possible to efficiently apply thick silane-based coatings and to reduce the required amount of organic solvents.
