FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices designed to prevent skidding of locomotive wheels. Proposed method consists in feeding heated heat carrier gas into wheel-rail contact zone. Heat carrier gas, which is air, passes through a multichannel ceramic cartridge enclosed in a steel sleeve, through a tube for supplying compressed air under pressure of 1–1.5 atm, it receives heat from a heating element enclosed in a ceramic cage. Hot air is supplied to heated section of track through confuser.
EFFECT: increased wheel-to-rail adhesion and traction force in winter conditions.
