SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to embodiments of the aerosol generating system and to a heating element. An aerosol-generating system is proposed, which comprises an aerosol-forming material, a heating element configured to insert an aerosol-forming material into it, and a winding configured to heat the heating element. The heating element has a longitudinal axis and a first length in the direction along the longitudinal axis. Aerosol-forming material has a second length in the direction along the longitudinal axis. The ratio of the first length to the second length is from 1.03 to 1.25.

EFFECT: more efficient and rational heating of aerosol-forming material.
