SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of purifying protein. Disclosed is a method for purifying a recombinantly produced protein of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), involving an anion-exchange chromatography step, where: a) an applied solution obtained from the collected cell culture liquid and comprising the RSV protein is contacted with an anion-exchange chromatography medium, as a result of which the PCB protein is bound to the anion-exchange chromatography medium; b) the medium for anion-exchange chromatography is washed with at least one washing solution with a lower pH in the range of pH 3.5–5.5, where the pH of said washing solution is lower than the pH of said applied solution, as a result of which the removal of host cell proteins is improved; and c) the RSV protein is eluted from the anion-exchange chromatography medium.
EFFECT: invention provides improved removal of host cell proteins.
