FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to genetics and selection of animals, and represents a method for improving productive and reproductive qualities of young Kalmyk cattle using an antigenic similarity index, which consists in testing by blood groups and then selection based on their differences by antigenic factors of blood groups, characterized by that antigens with maximum frequency of occurrence are used A1, A2, G2, E'3, C2, Z, pairs with an antigenic similarity index of 0.31–0.60 are selected for reproduction.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve productive and reproductive qualities of young Kalmyk cattle.
