FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Invention is a method for selection of Hereford breed pedigree bulls during testing according to own productivity taking into account reliability of origin, selection by phenotypic signs in 8-month-old age, detection of carriers of desirable alleles (V in gene GH and T in gene GDF5) of markers of lifelong meat productivity formation, and also estimation by own productivity in 15-month age.
EFFECT: invention enables accurate determination of repair bull-calves with hereditary makings of increased live weight and body type manifestations, taking into account the effect of desirable alleles of GH and GDF5 genes.
