FIELD: stereoscopic video equipment, possible use for building stereoscopic television sets and monitors with observation of stereo-image by means of passive (non-commutated) stereo-goggles.
SUBSTANCE: in the device and method, elliptic polarization generators of light stream are used with parameters of elliptic polarization in form of expression of arctg or arccos type of ratio of amplitudes of time scanning signals for representation of left or right angles of three-dimensional scene in parameters of two mutually orthogonal conditions of elliptic polarization, making it possible to select images of left and right angles in left and right observation windows from the combined light stream with intensiveness, proportional to the total of integration brightness of images of left and right angles, by means of two elliptic polarization analyzers with mutually orthogonal polarization characteristics.
EFFECT: improved quality of stereo-image due to abolished blinking of image under any observation conditions.
