FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of liquid metals and melts and can be used in growing monocrystals from liquid melts and solutions. Essence: in the method of suppressing the oscillatory instability of flows between two coaxially arranged containers, in conditions when the outer container is stationary and the inner one rotates, flow rate is measured, the angular speed of rotation of the inner container is subjected to time-periodic modulation relative to the average non-zero value with duration of 1,000 to 1,200 seconds, which leads to the establishment of a flow stationary in time after the end of modulation and, in particular, the appearance of signs of instability in the form of flow rate oscillations increasing with time is analyzed.
EFFECT: suppression of flow oscillatory instability and its transfer to stationary state with provision of possibility of long-term stability preservation, including due to addition to time constant of angular speed of rotation random in time oscillations with duration from 500 to 750 seconds with average zero value, in the spectrum of which the amplitudes are equal in the entire used frequency range.
