METHOD OF DETERMINING SHIP TRIM Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC B63B39/12 B63B79/00

Abstract RU 2823086 C1

FIELD: shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining ship trim, and can be used to assess current and predicted unsinkability characteristics. To determine ship trim, ship trim parameters are automatically controlled. Hydrostatic water pressure sensor is used, which is installed in the bottom of the vessel, in the bow, as close as possible to the center plane of the vessel. Another hydrostatic water pressure sensor is used, which is installed in the bottom of the vessel, in the after part, between the center plane and one of the sides of the vessel. Sensors continuously measure hydrostatic pressure of water, which is proportional to distances from them to water surface, taking into account ship swinging, its draft, state of water surface and sea disturbance. Array of initial values of said distances and current measured values of these distances is used to determine the current and predicted trim of the ship and determine parameters and characteristics of unsinkability of the ship. In the absence of power supply to the ship trim parameters control equipment from the ship network switching to self-contained energy-saving power supply is performed due to low power consumption of hydrostatic water pressure sensors and continuously transmitting data on trim of the damaged ship to external facilities providing assistance to the ship.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining ship trim, high reliability of equipment operation due to simplification of operating principle and continuous transmission of data on trim of damaged ship to external objects.
