SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flow guide for a steam delivery system and to a housing for the steam delivery system, as well as to a cartomizer for a steam delivery system and to a steam delivery system comprising such a flow guide and/or such a housing. A flow guide element for a steam delivery system configured to interact with an opening in the body wall forming a reservoir for the aerosolized substrate material and with an opening in the body wall forming an air flow channel, the flow guide element comprising: a liquid flow channel extending from the liquid inlet to the liquid outlet, so that when the flow guide is engaged with the body, the liquid inlet is in communication with the reservoir and the fluid outlet is in communication with the aerosol generating volume external to the reservoir, so that the aerosolized substrate material can flow from the reservoir into this volume; a second fluid flow passage extending from the second fluid inlet to the second fluid outlet, the second fluid outlet coinciding with said fluid outlet of said fluid flow passage; and an aerosol flow passage extending from the aerosol inlet to the aerosol outlet such that when the flow guide is engaged with the body, the aerosol inlet is in communication with said volume and the aerosol outlet is in communication with the air flow passage so that the aerosol can pass from said volume into the air flow channel.
