SUBSTANCE: invention relates to periodontics, orthodontics, therapeutic dentistry and pediatric dentistry, and can be used in collecting gingival fluid for assessing bone remodeling by analyzing biomarkers of osteoclastic bone resorption and biomarkers of bone mineralization. Teeth surfaces and adjoining soft tissues are isolated from saliva with cotton swabs. Tooth surfaces are dried. Strips of filter paper are inserted into the periodontal sulcus and removed after complete impregnation with gingival fluid. Before the study, a two-week diet is prescribed, which excludes the consumption of foods rich in protein and calcium, and the level of patient’s hygiene is determined using the IGR-U and KPI indices. Depth of gingival pockets on the investigated area is determined, and the examination is carried out in the morning on an empty stomach. Daily oral hygiene before examination is not performed. One hour before collecting gingival fluid, the oral cavity is rinsed with 200 ml of boiled water and discs made of filter paper with diameter of 5 mm are placed in the gingival groove from the vestibular, lingual and approximal surfaces, wherein the discs are not brought to the bottom of the oral cavity, but are removed after impregnation.

EFFECT: method, due to use of discs with given parameters, also takes into account individual characteristics of patient’s physiology, allows to ensure reduction of periodontal tissue injuries, to standardize the method of collecting gingival fluid.
