FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in industrial complexes of thermal processing of metals for metal cutting by means of plasma of arc discharge of direct current of reverse polarity. In the dielectric housing there is a hollow copper electrode, a solenoid having an electrical contact with the current lead, a swirler with tangential holes, water and air supply channels and a nozzle installed in the lower part of the housing, which is isolated from the hollow electrode. Hollow electrode and current lead have coaxially mating through axial channels. Channel in current lead is intended for discharge of waste water, and channel in electrode is made as two-stage and connects channel of current lead with three-stage electrode cavity with expansion towards nozzle. A chemically active medium in the state of aerosol is supplied to the discharge gap of the plasmatron before the vortex flow of the plasma-forming gas.
EFFECT: withdrawal of water passing through current lead channel in reverse direction provides effective cooling of heat-loaded elements of plasmatron, as well as effective compression of electric arc and additional saturation of plasma-forming medium with hydrogen and its ions.
