SUBSTANCE: there are presented an agent for treatment and prevention of hyperglycemia and insulin resistance and related diseases and functional disorders of organs and systems, its application and a method of treatment and prevention with its use. Agent contains recombinant human apolipoprotein A-I (rApoA-I-3-243), having the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1. Functional diseases and disorders of organs and systems associated with hyperglycemia and insulin resistance, are selected from obesity, diabetes mellitus type 2, dysfunctions of liver and kidneys, bone marrow, spleen, myocardium, reproductive system, locomotor activity and cognitive functions. Introduction of said agent to a subject in need thereof in therapeutically effective doses is carried out locally or parenterally.

EFFECT: inventions provide correction of the functional state of a subject suffering from hyperglycemia and insulin resistance, reducing functional disorders of liver, kidneys, bone marrow and spleen, reproductive system organs, improving myocardial contractility, improving locomotor activity and cognitive function in a subject.
