FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to methods of obesity correction. If the patient has a BWI more than 30 kg/m2 or has a history of obesity, half an hour before any meal, regardless of the number of meals, the left auricle is moistened first to reduce pain in the patient. Then a device for non-invasive auricular electrical stimulation of afferent fibres of the vagus nerve is installed, which is an ear clamp in the form of two connected parts (clamp terminals) of size 7×22 mm, in each of which there is an electrode by fixing one of the clamp terminals on the auricle tragus, and the second one on the auricle cup. Thereafter, using the “Channel +/-” key on the device for non-invasive auricular electrical stimulation of afferent fibres, a voltage value of 2–3 mA is set and the device is started. Correct operation is achieved if the patient senses a tingling sensation of the auricle skin without pain irritation (0 points on the visual analogue scale (VAS); the procedure duration is 10 minutes.

EFFECT: method provides reducing body weight in obesity, reducing food consumption, as well as changing the patient’s eating behaviour using the disclosed method.
