FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: use of transcutaneous electrical stimulation of a nerve emanating from sacral plexus for treatment or alleviation of incontinence. Electrical stimulation is insufficient to cause muscle contraction innervated by sciatic nerve, tibial nerve and popliteal nerve. Method reduces discomfort that is achieved by stimulation of popliteal fossa and use of stimulation insufficient to induce muscle contractions.
EFFECT: alleviation of incontinence symptoms.
