METHOD FOR PREDICTING CLINICAL COURSE OF ACUTE BRUCELLOSIS USING CALCULATED HEMATOLOGICAL INDICES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/49 G01N15/14

Abstract RU 2823564 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laboratory diagnostics and can be used to predict the clinical course of acute brucellosis using calculated hematological indices. Patient’s blood is analyzed on an automatic hematology analyzer. Blood cells are automatically counted and prognostic indices are calculated - indices of blood cell classes: neutrophilic (NLR), lymphocyte-monocytic (LMR), platelet (PLR) and systemic immune inflammation index (SII) by formulas: NLR index = neutrophil count, 109/l / lymphocyte count, 109/l; LMR index = lymphocyte count, 109/l / monocyte count, 109/l; PLR index = thrombocyte count, 109/l / lymphocyte count, 109/l; SII index = thrombocyte count 109/l x (neutrophil count, 109/l / lymphocyte count, 109/l). Prognostic indices are ranked: NLR, LMR, PLR, SII by points according to table 2 of the description. Integral assessment of individual level is determined by summation of points by indices: NLR, LMR, PLR and SII. If the integral score is 6 to 13 points, a mild course of brucellosis infection is predicted. If the integral score is 14 to 17 points, a moderate course of brucellosis infection is predicted. If the integral score is 18 and more points, a severe course of brucellosis infection is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy and adequacy of assessing the degree of intensity of the systemic inflammatory reaction in brucellosis by examining the leukocyte formula, by which the course of the pathological process, the onset of complications and the outcome of the disease can be predicted; improving the quality of recording hematological markers and the integrated use of prognostically significant calculated indices: LMR, NLR, PLR, SII.
