FIELD: radar.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to secondary radar and can be used in secondary radar systems monitoring air, surface and ground conditions. In the disclosed method, in a secondary radar surveillance system comprising a plurality of transponders placed on mobile objects, control module and a set of spatially spaced transceiving terminals with directional antennas, performing radar determination of coordinates – range and angular coordinates – transponders and determination of their addresses, terminals are arranged so that each point of the surveillance zone of the system is overlapped by their coverage areas, the number of which is not less than the number of determined coordinates. In the control module, range estimates are selected from the radar determination of coordinates and range-finding of coordinates is performed. Errors of radar and range-finding coordinates are estimated, and the estimate of coordinates with minimum error is determined and transmitted for further information processing.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of mobile objects.
