FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ligatures based on nickel and magnesium. Magnesium is loaded into the crucible of the DC arc furnace together with nickel, magnesium and nickel are heated and melted, the melt is poured, wherein magnesium is placed in the crucible on a layer of nickel in the bottom of the crucible, then the remaining nickel is loaded, wherein there is heating and melting of nickel in upper layers, heating and melting of magnesium under nickel layer with simultaneous dissolution of nickel in it, heating and melting are carried out with a closed furnace cover in an arc mode by a graphitized electrode with a hole in the center in the form of a hollow electrode, through which inert gas argon is supplied during arc melting to prevent oxidation of alloy components.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce pollution of environment and ventilation system of shop, and also to reduce time of melting and to increase efficiency of ligature production.
