FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a haemostatic styptic material for use in controlling haemorrhages. Haemostatic material contains a haemostatic agent in the form of granules, short fibres, spongy substances, or fibrous substances, where the haemostatic agent is selected from a list consisting of gelatine, zeolite, collagen, chitosan and a chitosan salt, and a bioadhesive agent, where the bioadhesive agent is selected from a group consisting of carbomers, polymer of acrylic acid, having a molecular weight of not less than 50,000 g/mol, cross-linked with divinyl glycol, or salts of polyacrylic acid, cross-linked with divinyl glycol, or combinations thereof, and where the content of the bioadhesive agent is from 2 to 20 wt.% of the weight of the haemostatic material. Invention also relates to a method for producing a haemostatic material and to using the haemostatic material in relieving or stopping bleeding from a target area of the body.
EFFECT: development of a haemostatic material, which is effective in combating wound bleeding, is easy and safe to use and requires reduced compression time, with possibility of binding with wet or wet surface with adhesion exceeding target value of adhesion of 0_02 N/cm.
