SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for providing both pre-medical and first aid, emergency medical and primary health care, in the field and at home, in combat areas, as well as in hospital for stopping bleeding, including from parenchymal organs, as well as temporary embolization of blood vessels during surgical interventions. Composition for temporary arrest of bleeding is made on the basis of block-copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and contains poly (ethylene oxide), water, polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride and sodium chloride, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide—15–30; poly(ethylene oxide)—0.1–2.0; polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride—0.002; sodium chloride—0.9; water—balance.

EFFECT: invention provides temporary arrest of bleeding.
