SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely geriatrics, endocrinology, nephrology, therapy. Clinical examination of elderly patients with concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is carried out to determine: obesity, duration of diabetes and insulin therapy, pulsation on ankle artery, manifested stage of polyneuropathy, using sulphonylurea preparations, the fourth risk group of arterial hypertension, using two or more antihypertensive preparations. Values in points are assigned to predictors and points are summed up. If the total score is more than 33, the risk of a high rate of progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables the objective prediction of the risk of a high rate of progression of CKD in the elderly patients with concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus by assessing the complex of the most diagnostically significant predictors.
