FIELD: clinical medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining the rate of progression of chronic kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus using the diagnostic index of decreased glomerular filtration rate. The following is determined: the value of the glomerular filtration rate at the time of consultation and the duration of diabetes mellitus, on the basis of which the value of the original diagnostic parameter which is the index of decreased glomerular filtration rate (IS_GFR) is calculated using the following formula: IS_GFR = (90-X)/length of diabetes, where X is the level of GFR at the time of consultation, 90 ml/min/1.73 m2 is the threshold level of the normal value of GFR, experience of diabetes is the duration of the disease in years. When the IS_GFR value is higher than 4 ml/min/1.73 m2 per year, a high rate of progression of CKD is stated.

EFFECT: invention provides an objective quantitative assessment of the rate of progression of CKD in patients with type 2 diabetes.
