FIELD: chemistry; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to chemistry and pharmaceutical industry, namely: to a pharmaceutical composition having bactericidal activity; to an oral composition for treating bacterial infections; as well as to a method of treating a bacterial infection in a patient in need of such treatment. Disclosed pharmaceutical composition contains at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier medium and a therapeutically effective amount of ceftibutene or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an avibactam derivative which is ethyl-3-((((1R,2S,5R)-2-carbamoyl-7-oxo-1,6-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-6-yl)oxy)sulphonyl)oxy)-2,2-dimethyl propanoate or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the ratio of the amount of avibactam in said avibactam derivative (or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof) to the amount of ceftibuten by weight ranges from 1:1 to 4:1.
