FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to therapy and anesthesiology-resuscitation, and can be used to assess the unfavorable outcome of severe pneumonia associated with COVID-19, according to the u-CysC level. The concentration of u- CysC in urine samples collected during the first 24 hours of admission to the intensive care unit is determined by the immunoturbidimetric method. If u- CysC concentrations in patients exceed 0.86 mg/l, then an unfavorable outcome of severe pneumonia associated with COVID-19 is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to assess the risk of an unfavorable outcome of severe pneumonia associated with COVID-19 by determining the level of u-CysC in urine, which is an objective marker that allows timely prediction of the need for active therapeutic measures in the intensive care unit.
