FIELD: technology of water and air purification.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water desalination by electrodialysis in an electrodialyzer with ion-exchange membranes and can be used in water treatment. Electrochemical installation for desalination of highly mineralized water consists of two electrolytic cells: a desalination electrolytic cell and a pH correction cell, as well as from a settling tank for separating precipitate. PH correction electrolyser comprises a current source, electrode chambers with anode and cathode installed in them and cation-exchange ones alternating between them, anion-exchange and bipolar membranes separated by separating inserts, forming alternating desalination chambers, alkaline flow chambers and acid flow chambers.
EFFECT: increased service life of electrodialysis device, increased reliability and operational characteristics of water treatment equipment.
