SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thoracic surgery. Zones of internal thoracic organ injuries and presumed localization of a foreign body in the form of a metal wounding projectile in the thorax are visualized by videothoracoscopy. A magnetic extractor containing two neodymium cylindrical magnets with diameter of 10 mm and length of 10 mm or one magnet with length of 20 mm is introduced into the working trocar, fixed on one end of a drainage polyvinylchloride tube with length of 25 cm with diameter of 6–8 mm, into a lumen of which an endovisional clamp is inserted. Metal ferromagnetic foreign body is searched for, identified and fixed. Tissue preparation is carried out, in depth of which there is a metal ferromagnetic foreign body. Metal ferromagnetic foreign body is removed. Haemostasis and aerostasis are performed.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to carry out simple and fast search of metal ferromagnetic foreign bodies in case of gunshot penetrating wounds of chest, removal by precision preparation of tissues around fixed foreign body with possibility of application through minimally invasive endovisional approaches.
