FIELD: veterinary medicine; veterinary surgery.
SUBSTANCE: animal under general anesthesia is subjected to laparotomy of 10–12 cm along a white line of abdomen at distance of 1–2 cm from the xiphoid cartilage. Resected portion of the liver is removed. Apex of a liver lobe is fixed with a fenestrated clamp. For dissection of the capsule and parenchyma of the organ, laser radiation with power of 10–15 Wt is used with an aiming beam of 1.5 or 1.8 mm and wave length 976 nm in a contact mode. During the resection, pauses are made for 40–60 seconds after each 3 laser passages.
EFFECT: method enables reducing the length of the surgical intervention, providing control of the volume of injured tissues, hemostasis in the resection area, reducing the risk of developing posttraumatic inflammation.
