FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the position of a neutral section during longitudinal rolling on a flat body. Performing deformation, determining parameters of investigated rolling process, namely, diameters of rolls, gap between rolls, rotation speed of rolls, temperature and dimensions of strip before rolling. Determining the deformation resistance of the material of the non-deformed strip depending on degree of deformation, rate of deformation and temperature according to test results on testing machine. Using values of certain parameters of the investigated process of longitudinal rolling and test results by means of finite element analysis, position of neutral section is determined. When preparing data for modeling and positioning objects, a rectangular coordinate system is introduced. For each of the points of the contact arc, the value of the coordinate of the point along the abscissa, the speed of the strip material along the abscissa is calculated, and the value of the horizontal component of the roll speed is calculated.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of calculating the parameters of the deformation zone and the distribution of the metal flow rate during longitudinal rolling on a flat body.
