METHOD FOR SELECTING DOSING REGIMEN OF HYPERBARIC THERAPY FOR PATIENTS WITH COVID-ASSOCIATED PNEUMONIA Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61G10/02 A61B5/145

Abstract RU 2826470 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to therapy, pulmonology, and can be used for treating respiratory failure caused by novel coronavirus infection COVID-19. First session of hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) is performed at pressure in a pressure chamber of 1.2 ATA for 40 minutes. Patient’s SO2 is measured before, immediately after and 12 hours after the HBO session. Pressure in the pressure chamber is increased sequentially from session to session by 0.1 ATA until the difference of SO2 measured immediately after the HBO session and 12 hours after its termination is more than 3%. Duration of the second and subsequent sessions is 60 minutes. HBO course is completed provided that the pairwise difference between the SO2 value before the session and immediately after it and SO2 value immediately after the HBO session and 12 hours after it does not exceed 2%.

EFFECT: method enables higher clinical effectiveness in the patients with COVID-19, reducing the therapeutic course provided the high quality of the clinical result ensured by individual calculation of the pressure in the pressure chamber and the duration of the course.
