METHOD OF ESTIMATING PROPENSITY OF DIESEL FUELS TO COKING OF INJECTOR SPRAYERS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/22

Abstract RU 2826563 C1

FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to evaluation of operational properties of diesel fuels on laboratory-bench installations by coking index of injector sprayers. Disclosed is a method for assessing the propensity of diesel fuels to coking injector sprayers, for this purpose, the diesel engine is operated in maximum torque mode at fuel temperature at the inlet of the high-pressure fuel pump of not lower than 60 °C and with increased intensity of penetration of high-temperature intra-cylinder gases through nozzle holes into injector sprayer channels, by lowering pressure of injector nozzle shut-off needle rise to 1.0-5.0 MPa, with subsequent determination of coking coefficient of nozzle holes of sprayers by relative change of throughput of spraying holes before and after accelerated tests.

EFFECT: reduced duration of engine tests of diesel fuels when assessing their propensity for coking of injector sprayers, due to creation of conditions for increasing intensity of coking of nozzle holes of sprayers, by increasing temperature of fuel and increasing penetration of high-temperature in-cylinder gases.
