FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method for gas chromatographic determination of fatty acid methyl esters in human blood. Method includes extraction, methanolysis and chromatographic determination of weight fraction of individual fatty acids, and is characterized by that the blood plasma or serum sample is preliminarily dehydrated in a vacuum on a water bath of a rotary evaporator at temperature of 75–79 °C for 20 minutes, then it is dried in a drying oven for 20 minutes, the dried fat film is dissolved in 2 ml of hexane and centrifuged at 5000 rpm for 20 minutes, 15-minute settling is followed by gas chromatographic analysis of 1 ml of the sample supernatant on 100-meter capillary quartz column with a high-polarity stationary phase CR-Sil 88 FAME.
EFFECT: invention extends the range of methods for gas chromatographic determination of fatty acid methyl esters in human blood.
